Infineon BT only chips such CYW20706, CYW20721 provide an easy way to add Bluetooth support to any embedded product. The chips have BT/BLE stack built in. These chips are sometimes paired with an MCU.
Embedded BT Client Control is a port of Cypress client control application provided on Windows and Linux to embedded MCU platforms. It communicates with the Bluetooth MCU by using standard WICED HCI protocols and demonstrates the use of Bluetooth features from host MCU such as PSOC or STM32.
GUI interface of Windows/Linux OS in ClientControl is made into command line interface(CLI) suitable for embedded platforms. Many console commands provided to test various Bluetooth profiles.

NXP iMXRT series of EVK boards featuring i.MXRT1050/ 1060 crossover MCUS are high performance boards meant for industrial, realtime and IoT applications. MCUXpresso SDK from NXP had added support for WICED WiFi Drivers(WWD) for Cypress WLAN modules on i.MXRT1050/RT 1060 EVK boards.
In 2020 Cypress released a new version of WiFi host driver called WiFi Host Driver(WHD) with the aim of making it easily portable to all MCU platforms and SDKs. WHD driver is made very portable by minimising the number of external API that are called by this driver.
Packet Path has ported this WHD driver to iMXRT boards by mapping these external APIs to corresponding modules as shown in the diagram.
Save several weeks of development and future-proof your connectivity solutions by using WHD as opposed to older WWD version. Reach out to our WHD experts at whd@packetp.com
